Julie is a graduate of the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. She received her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Tampa, where she also served as vice president of her class. She holds memberships in various medical organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Jen is a graduate of Clarkson University where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Bio-Molecular Science. Jen then went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She holds memberships in the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, The Obesity Medicine Association, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Cate started her nursing career in 1995 in Syracuse, New York working in cardiac ICU.  She then transferred to the bariatric surgery specialty in 2001. She is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and served on the ASMBS task force assisting in the development of the national certification for Certified Bariatric Nurses (CBN). She also works as a bariatric legal nurse in her spare time. Cate had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 and feels this gives her a unique, personal perspective in helping patients on their journey to optimal wellness.

Kim is a Florida native with over 20 years’ experience as a licensed practical nurse. Since joining Dr. Rekkas at Manatee Surgical Alliance - Weight Loss Center in 2016, Kim has been committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and fostering a supportive, healing environment. She has built a reputation for combining clinical excellence with a caring, patient-centered approach. As a valued member of our team, Kim continues to enhance her nursing practice through ongoing professional development and collaborative teamwork. 

Kelly is the dedicated surgery scheduler for Dr. Rekkas, ensuring that patients have a seamless experience when planning their surgeries. With a focus on personalized care, she assists patients in coordinating their procedures and answering any questions throughout the scheduling process

Liz is a Florida native who has over 15 years of experience in customer service. Liz loves spending time with her family and goes above and beyond daily to help all patients . In her role at the front desk Liz assists with answering phone calls, verifying benefits, scheduling appointments, and much more. 

Laura has worked in healthcare for over 30 years and enjoys helping patients as well as her coworkers. She enjoys spending time with her family. As a front office Medical Office Specialist, she answers patient phone calls, schedules appointments, verifies insurance benefits, and much more.

Jaael is a recent transplant to Florida from New York City. He has 20+ years of
healthcare operations and leadership experience. Throughout his career, Jaael has
worked closely with providers, nursing teams, front desk staff, and patients in both,
bedside and outpatient settings to help provide the best possible care and experience
for patients. He has experience working within healthcare organizations ranging from
nonprofit systems to the federal level, with a strong focus on improving patient flow,
communication, team building, and overall clinic efficiency.
Jaael is excited to be apart of the team and foster strong relationships within the
organization and the community.
